The Great American Total Solar Eclipse 2017 – August 21st, 2017

On August 21st, 2017 millions of Americans will have the chance to view a Total Solar Eclipse from their backyards.

Below is a map that can be used to plan your solar eclipse viewing location.

If you are planning on staying In the Buffalo Area the BAA will have several viewing locations setup across WNY for your viewing enjoyment. These locations will be hosted by Club members who will have Solar Glasses available as well as telescopes with solar filters setup for viewing the Eclipse safely. Please come back often to this page for updates on those locations as we approach August 21st, 2017.

If you would like to view the Eclipse the BAA has Solar glasses available for a small Donation of $1 per Pair. If you are interested in obtaining Solar Glasses for safe viewing of the Eclipse you can contact us here or visit us on a public Night at the Beaver Meadow Observatory

Meeting Information

Meetings of the Buffalo Astronomical Association are held on the second Friday of each month from September through June (except for the March dinner meeting). Our meetings generally start at 7:30 pm unless the time is changed to accommodate a special event or speaker. For More Details Click here
