The Great American Total Solar Eclipse 2024 – April 8, 2024
On April 8th, 2024, millions of Americans will have the chance to view a Total Solar Eclipse from their backyards. This will also be a special event for Buffalo as the path of totality will occur over Western New York.
Below is a list of locations where you can view the eclipse locally:
- Buffalo Harbor State Park
- Niagara Falls State Park
- SUNY/Buffalo State’s Ferguson Planetarium
- The Williamsville Space Lab Planetarium
- Buffalo Aududon Society- Beaver Meadow Nature Center
- Central Branch of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library
- Calvin E. Krueger Park in Wilson, 350 Ontario Street ( route 18 ) Village of Wilson *member hosted
- Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Preserve in Blasdell, NY

If you are planning on traveling to the Buffalo area, the BAA will be partnering at several viewing locations setup across WNY for your enjoyment. These locations will be hosted or assisted by club members who may have Solar Glasses available as well as telescopes with solar filters setup for viewing the Eclipse safely.
