We are proud to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website.
On behalf of the Buffalo Astronomical Association, welcome! Our old website has served us well for years, but technology continues to develop and with this redesign we will be able to take advantage of the most current tools to enjoy our hobby and share our news and projects speedily and effectively. Work on the site is ongoing, but here are some new things to check out at launch…
Get connected
The new site employs a modern layout and design, it is optimized to view on multiple devices using any level of internet connection. Whether you are on an iPad at home, a smartphone in the field, or using your grandparents IBM in rural Buffalo, you will be able to keep in touch with the BAA member community. For the first time, a database with user editable profiles will be implemented, allowing our members to get to know and stay connected with each other.
Get organized
We’ve tried to make the website structure more organized and intuitive with a design that uses thematic associations between parts of the site and encourages you to move organically to learn more about our members, topics and events. The navigation bar will be your guide. It will grow with pull down menus as we add more features and content.
Get social
We focused on integrating social media into every part of the site, so wherever you are you can share what you see with your friends and colleagues. We are also focusing more on multimedia, so images, videos and other multimedia content can be added to maximize the impact of our communication. Watch for new galleries of images, videos and event photos coming soon.
Jump in!
We encourage you to explore the new site. Although much has changed, all of the resources that we have created over the years are still part of the site and archives (scans of vintage issues of the Spectrum) will be available soon. Thanks to everyone who has given us feedback on the site design and helped us to create a more connected, organized and social Buffalo Astronomical Association website.
